Badjelly Witch Tasks

This week we have been reading the 'Badjelly Witch' and listening to this story. We had some tasks set up by our teachers Miss Hiskens and Mrs Dhaliwal for us to complete this week.

We had a lot of fun completing them. Here are Joanna, Sadaw and Zurielle's completed tasks. If you wish to look at some more, please visit our individual blogs on the left hand side of this blog. Thank you.

We read 'The Badjelly Witch' this week because we are going to the 'Pumphouse Theatre' in Takapuna, Auckland on Monday 4th July to watch the show - The Badjelly Witch.

Support Staff Day 2022

Last week we acknowledged our lovely Miss Mala  as it was support staff week last week. We think it is so wonderful to have a week to celebrate our awesome support staff. They are people who should be acknowledged everyday for their contributions towards our learning and supporting teachers.

Mrs Cox and Room 5 students gave a lovely card to Miss Mala and shared some amazing messages of thank yous with her.

Our teachers Mrs Cox and Mrs Dhaliwal are so grateful for Miss Mala working with us this year.

Volleyball Time

This Term we are really lucky to have Lila, Ruby and Amelie from Glendowie college teaching us how to play volleyball. They are doing this as part of their project in Year 13.

The goal of their project is to increase enjoyment for games and physical education in primary aged learners and also share their passion for being active in life and how being active helps us being healthy people.

Egyptian Kofta Dish

Today Joanna's mum came to school and cooked Koftas with us in the wharekai (Kitchen). We all really enjoyed watching Joanna's mum cook this delicious dish for us. We all tried it and some of us went in for seconds as Joanna's mum had very generously made heaps of it.

Samoan Language Week Celebrations

This week at our school we had an awesome mix of experiencing a variety of activities and cultural experiences from Samoa. Our Samoan teaching staff put together workshops for us to immerse ourselves in today. They even prepared chopseuy for us and we all absolutely enjoyed it.
Such days are a reminder and a reflection of the rich heritage backgrounds we all come from and that we need to hold onto for the coming generations to hold onto and pass on to the next generations and next and keep it going.
