Anzac History Lesson with Ms Lynn

It was a real special day for us in Room 5 today as one of our community members Ms Lynn who comes to our class every Thursday to read with us brought in homemade Anzac biscuits for us.

She shared some very special stories of her grandfather, uncle and oldest brother being in war. It was very emotional listening to real stories about the Anzacs from Ms Lynn. We felt highly informed and emotional.

She told us about what women did when the men went to war and how they helped during the war.

Please click here to view some of the photos of Ms Lynn talking to us. She made all of us guess what the ingredients of Anzac biscuits was at the time of war, so the original recipe.
Some of the students in Room 5 tasted Anzac biscuits for the first time and are feeling confident in having a go at baking them at home with their whanau.

Thank you Ms Lynn. We are very lucky to have you come to our class every Thursday. You are a treasure. We so appreciate you and are thankful for having you with us.

    Hello Room 5,

I enjoyed the Anzac cookies and I also enjoyed reading this blog post.
I liked seeing these photos that you have taken, thanks to Ms Lynn for her hard work. Ms Lynn baked Room 5 Anzac cookies and it was delicious!
Hopefully we could get another yummy treat next year on Anzac.

    Questions:
Did you enjoy eating the Anzac cookies?
What ingredients do you need to make Anzac cookies?
    Have you made Anzac cookies?

Bye bye Room 5, enjoy the rest of your day.
