In our class we are working on asking and answering critical questions. Here is a Google slide that has examples of critical questions we ask when we are reading texts and discussing ideas and information.

Here are the topics we are working on currently. We are sharing our opinions on these padlets. We ask and answer critical questions on these topics in our Google Meets. Leave a comment or add your opinion on the padlet if you wish to.

Shout Out Time| Room 5 learners rock!!

This is a shout out post for my class- Room 5. I am so so so proud of you all and the way you have embraced online learning. This lockdown came upon us all of a sudden and you guys just jumped into lockdown learning from your homes just like that. It is certainly not easy but you all make it look like butter on toast.

For the last 3 weeks Room 5 students have been learning from home and are working creatively and most are working with their classmates using Google docs. It is just incredible.

Room 5 have been involved in a lot of awesome learning experiences/tasks since lockdown started on 18th August 2021. Last week Room 5 researched on a topic and wrote speeches. This week they are interviewing a staff member from GTS (Glen Taylor School, our school) and creating fact files on them. Here is the interviews schedule.

Here are links to hear and read some amazing speeches. If you wish to read or hear some more speeches please visit our individual blogs.

Here are links to view some amazing Math learning happening in Room 5

Here are links to view some fact files we have written on the staff members of Glen Taylor school who we have interviewed-

Posts from Soana and Uheina from their work on Tongan Language week. Mrs Tupou Fonua in our school shared some slides with us with tasks about Tonga and Tongan language. We are really enjoying working from them, especially all the Tongans in our class.

Hope you enjoyed looking at all these amazing pieces of learning from Room 5.

Science Experiments

Some really easy and cool science experiments you can do at home. Please do show your mum or dad first or who ever you live with and ask them if you can go ahead trying an experiment. Comment below and share which one you will try and why. When you do one remember to ask someone to take photos and share them on your blog and explain what materials did you require to do the experiment and what did you notice and explain what happened and why you think it happened that way.
